Saving an all-girls’ Catholic school in the Bronx

After listening to stakeholders’ concerns and input, Attorney General James stopped the proposed closing of Preston High School. She brokered an agreement for a nonprofit charity to buy the school property from the religious order that owned and operated the school. The school will now lease the property from the nonprofit, under terms that allow it to remain open.

Many consumers have federal student loans issued by the United States Department of Education (DOE). The DOE offers various programs to help consumers with respect to their federal student loans. Consumers can apply for these programs themselves for free.
